Take a little trip through the history of recording and see how DRM fits into the bigger picture.
This video comes from ns-ae.net. Find similar videos about DRM, that explains the consequences of such malware– Barney style.
There also exists a video about TPM. DRM holds your data hostage by taking your control of it away, and then encrypting it so that you can only read it under "special" circumstances– malicious circumstances. DRM is malicous software; TPM is malicious hardware. With the two technologies combined, and an equally malicious operating system (I won't name names, I'm sure you can figure out which ones are nonfree) to coordinate the effort: You literally and systematically lose control of your own computer. Take a good hard look at your phone, tablet, computer, or any other electronic device that you may own, and ask yourself these question: Should I be in control of my own devices, or should someone else be in charge? Should someone else make my decisions for me, or should I exercise the freedom to decide for myself how I should do something?
